Clean Water World
Chairman Nelson Hipolito’s attention was caught when he visited the US Embassy
in Manila
and found the huge mass of garbage piling up the shoreline of Manila bay. He was
disheartened and promised himself that he will return and do something about it.
|
A
few months after, he came back with one mission in mind… clean-up the
shoreline of Manila Bay. He gathered donations from his friends in
Hawaii
and Manila and drew together volunteers in Manila to make the project
possible.
Volunteers of the Clean Water World (CWW) expressed unity in
cleaning the shoreline of Manila Bay along Roxas Boulevard, Manila last
February 2002.. |

They started as early as
seven in the morning and worked until just in time for them to witness the
beautiful sunset along Manila Bay. They were able to collect rubbish that
ranges from cigarette butts and barbecue sticks to plastic bottles and even
human waste. They did not mind the scorching heat of the sun that reached up
to 40 degrees Celsius. In
the end, what matters most is that they came with one goal, which at the end
of the day was mission accomplished! |
